We have been seeing pastel tones a lot recently especially the last few seasons at fashion week. Designers such as Christopher Kane, Chanel, Ashish, Comme des Garcons,Proenza . Even some Celebrity’s such as Kelly Osbourne and Lady GaGa are trying out this look, making me consider whether I should take the plunge and peroxide my deep burgundy locks for a lighter shade.
Pastel shades are a really good if you want something a bit different but without having that really bold in your face crazy colour. At first I liked the idea of mint green on my ends, cool and calming for my fair skin complexion, like below:
But then it came to me that red and green should probably never be been. Still I have not gone off the idea of pastels and have thought about buying my hair grey like Pixie Lott has here:
The idea of dying my hair grey feels like a childhood fantasy because I have been dreaming of it for so long, once even considering buying a grey wig so I could wear grey hair out. I love the colour and that it's not in your face and also being a silver fox at 20.
Although I have bleached my hair before about two years ago to go dirty blonde and in the end the maintenance and the colour just got expensive and out of hand. I used to bleach with Live (typical) and then dye it again to make it go dirty. At first it looked good but then I got lazy and when the roots came through I used to just bleach and not bother dying it dirty again, instead I used purple shampoo thinking that will solve any yellow-ness. Anyway to cut a long story short by the end I had yellow hair with white tips and my natural gingerness coming through underneath. I look back at photos now and burst out laughing. It took pretty much a year for my hair to grow out so kind of scared to bleach again, but then again you are only young once.
